Another Pint Jockey on location this week at Sawdust City. The Lads and Ladies there have been working overtime it seems cranking out so many new beers it's almost like Christmas walking into the saloon. (They have another one coming out this weekend!) I meant to get to this beer earlier (as it was put out for Valentine's Day...) BUT... well, stuff always gets in the way of my best laid plans. Tonight's beer, they started with their Golden Beach Pale Ale, an American Pale Ale, and infused it with cranberries and hibiscus.

With hearts afire....

Pours a hazy orange cranberry colour with a light skiff of an off-white head. Nose is very floral, with hints of sweet roses, candies, red berries. The first sip is fruity, sweet and sour. Light tropical fruit flavours run throughout and it is slightly tart with big notes of Maynard's Wine Gums candies. Effervescent on the back of the tongue like a fizzy candy. Hints of lemony cranberry sauce. Aeration accentuates the cranberry and lemon with a hint of bitterness from the hops.

Final Thoughts:

It is a lovely floral scented fruity beer, that makes me think of flowers and candy. Easy drinking, lower in alcohol. One would not mind sipping one or two of these. Share one with your sweetie, before they come up with something new at Sawdust!
